John, a true Chicagoan, was born, raised, and has spent most of his 30+ year cooking career in Chicagoland.
Since 2001, John has been the executive chef at Tavern on Rush where he has curated the extensive menu of classic American fare that features USDA prime aged steaks and chops, fresh fish and seafood, and unique daily specials. The versatility of the menu has allowed John to explore his interests in a variety of international cuisines as well, most notably Asian and Mediterranean.
With Tavern on Rush, John is a supporter of major events with the American Liver Foundation, Green City and Gilda’s Club. He has also worked as a private dinner chef for MLB and NBA teams.
Prior to working at Tavern on Rush, John served as the Executive Chef at the Chicago Yacht Club, Monroe and Belmont Harbors for ten years. He attended Washburn Culinary Institute in Chicago and is a member of the Chicago Culinary Federation.
